Hearth Gates

Finally, there's a way to protect children from the dual hazards of heat and fire from fireplaces and wood burning stoves as well as the dangerous corners and hard, rough surfaces associated with hearths. The HearthGate is the solution for layouts that do not have mounting points straight across. The standard gate fits hearths 6' wide by 2' deep. Larger fireplaces and wood burning stove areas may require additional sections.

Five interlocking sections adjust in 10° increments and can be angled or set in a straight line as needed. Included in the 5 piece basic set is a walk through section that opens in either direction with a simple one hand adult release.

Model G-70, 5-section basic set consists of a swing-open, walkthrough gate section with an adult-operated triple action release latch, and 4 standard 24" sections, and will accommodate a total lineal distance of 120" - sufficient to isolate a hearth area of 6' wide by 24" depth at the recommended separation distance of 20". Section connectors are molded cans featuring teeth to allow articulation in 10º increments. A layout of virtually any design or length can thus be achieved to accommodate most sizes or special situations.

Measuring is as easy as:

Simply determine the area to protect or isolate.
Place objects at 24" intervals along the line of the intended gate configuration.
Count the number of 24" segments to determine the number of sections needed.

HearthGate can also be used outdoors (maintained as wrought iron) and is the perfect choice to isolate children from barbecue grills and cooking areas.
